The project “Measures for the Management of Species Habitats and Habitats in the Nature Reserve “Raunas Staburags” has been partially implemented. In the territory of Staburags there is 1 free meter with entertainment internet; 2 surveillance cameras; 1 new information stand and 1 new toilet, incl. solar collector. A study of the causes of changes in the flow of springs in the Staburags area is currently being carried out. With pleasure signs that from 26.04.2021. until 01.09.2021. 7452 people have visited Raunas Staburags.
Residents of Smiltene municipality have access to an interactive application “Laipa Plus”, which shows on the map information about the concluded waste management agreements in the territory of the municipality. Edgars Avotiņš, Chairman of the Smiltene Municipality Council, emphasizes “With the help of the new application, we hope that the residents will look at and draw conclusions on how to make our municipality even greener.”
